SankalpTaru Foundation Sports

Over the past 3 years UNIFI has been planting trees on each client's birthday. We have planted over 10000 trees with involvement of 100 farmers and SankalpTaru team in the Kadiri region of Anantapur District, Andhra Pradesh. This type of work not only improves our ecosystem but also empower farmers. Plantation and management require considerable planning and follow-up. Planting and maintaining trees are not easy things, below we mention the process and empowerment of farmers. Bulk plantation happens for a farmer in a single lot. The farmers are chosen based on their willingness to participate, amount of land they own, water & electricity facilities. Supplied Trees are planted by farmers and taken care of it. SankalpTaru team helps them with technical knowledge and organizes camps to educate farmers. SankalpTaru team keeps a track of newly planted trees for 6 months after which farmers are completely responsible. A new dam on Krishna River with canals had started operating in the area recently which will help in the better water supply. More farmers are coming forward for participating in program and SankalpTaru team plans to plant nearly 50,000 trees this year. Variety of fruit trees are supplied to farmers including, guava, pomegranate, papaya, lemon, mango, coconut, etc. Famers are allowed to have intermittent crops until trees are big enough to bear fruits. Once trees start giving fruits, fruits are removed by farmers and sold in the local market for profit. There is no profit sharing with SankalpTaru organization.
